Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how lifestyle.physiqz.com (the “Site”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information about the people who read it. It covers what we collect, why, which companies help us, and what you can do about it. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

In plain terms

  • You never need an account to read a story here, and we don’t offer one.
  • Ads on the Site are run by Mediavine and its advertising partners, who use cookies and similar tools to show and measure ads. You can turn off personalized ads (see “Your ad choices” below).
  • We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which stories people read.
  • If you join our email list, MailerLite stores your email address and sends our emails.
  • If you use our contact form, your message comes to our inbox.
  • We never sell your information for money, and we don’t ask for your name to let you read.

1. What we collect

What you choose to send us.

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. The form is built with the Gutena Forms plugin and delivers your message by email to the Site’s administrator; a copy may also be kept in the Site’s WordPress database.
  • Newsletter and chapter emails: your email address, plus anything else a sign-up form asks for. Some stories offer later chapters by email; signing up for those adds you to our list in the same way.
  • Comments, if they are open on a page: the name, email address and comment you enter.

What is collected automatically when you visit.

  • Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting server records each request: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page you asked for, the page that sent you, and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the Site running and to spot abuse.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-M6FVS86, property G-KCQ7TYV76H), records the pages and chapters you view, how long you stay, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (country, region or city, worked out from your IP address).
  • Advertising data. Mediavine and its partners collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, cookie and device identifiers, the pages you view, and your interactions with ads. See Section 4.
  • Email activity. MailerLite records whether our emails are delivered, opened and clicked, so we know which stories readers want.

Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website. The Site, Google, Mediavine and its partners use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar tools. Our caching plugin, LiteSpeed Cache, keeps ready-made copies of pages so they load quickly and may set a small technical cookie; it is not used to track you.

We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health details, religion or financial account numbers. Please leave it out of anything you send us.

2. Why we use it

  • To show you the Site and keep it fast, working and secure.
  • To understand which stories and chapters people read, and to decide what to publish next.
  • To show advertising that pays for the free stories, and to measure it.
  • To answer your messages and handle your requests.
  • To send newsletters and chapter emails you asked for.
  • To prevent spam, fraud and misuse, to enforce our Terms, and to meet legal obligations.

Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland). Where European or UK data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies, personalized advertising and marketing emails; on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Site; on performing a request you made (such as replying to a message); and on legal obligations where they apply. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before.

3. Who receives it

We share information only with the following:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores the Site and its server logs.
  • Mediavine and its advertising partners (Section 4).
  • Google, through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • MailerLite, which stores our email list and sends our emails on our behalf.
  • People who must see it by law, such as a court or regulator, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect our rights, our readers or the public.
  • A future owner, if the Site is sold or transferred, who would be bound to treat your information in line with this policy.

Service providers may use the data only to provide their services to us, except where their own privacy policies give them independent rights, as is the case for some advertising partners.

4. Advertising on the Site

The Site works with Mediavine, Inc., which manages the ads you see here. Mediavine and the third-party advertising companies it works with may set and read cookies, web beacons and similar identifiers on your device, and may combine information about your visits to this and other websites, to show ads that may interest you, to cap how often you see the same ad, to detect ad fraud, and to report how ads perform. Where those companies receive data, their own privacy policies govern how they use it. Mediavine’s policy is available at mediavine.com/privacy-policy.

Where the law requires consent before these cookies are used (for example in the EEA and UK), our advertising provider is responsible for asking for it, and you can refuse or withdraw it at any time with the tools below.

Your ad choices.

  • Use your browser’s settings to block or delete cookies, or browse in a private window.
  • Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info (US), youradchoices.ca (Canada) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe and the UK).
  • On a phone or tablet, use the “Limit Ad Tracking” or “Delete Advertising ID” setting on your device, or the AppChoices app from youradchoices.com/appchoices.
  • Manage how Google personalizes ads at adssettings.google.com.

Opting out doesn’t remove ads. You’ll still see them, but they won’t be based on your browsing.

To stop Google Analytics from recording your visits on any site, you can install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Emails

You only join our list if you sign up. Every email from us has an unsubscribe link at the bottom; one click takes you off the list. You can also ask us through the contact page to remove you.

6. How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: as long as we need to deal with your message, and up to two years afterwards in case you write again.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of the unsubscribe so you aren’t added again by mistake.
  • Server logs: for a limited time set by our host, generally no more than 12 months.
  • Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
  • Advertising data: according to the retention policies of Mediavine and its partners.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute, and we may keep data that no longer identifies anyone.

7. How we protect it

The Site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to the Site’s dashboard and our email accounts is limited to the people who run it. No website can promise perfect security, but if a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires.

8. US state privacy rights (including California)

Residents of California and of other states with consumer privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon) may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to;
  • get a copy of it;
  • correct it if it’s wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • opt out of the “sale” of personal information, of its “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and of targeted advertising; and
  • be treated equally if you use any of these rights.

What we collect, in the categories the law uses. In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (such as IP address, cookie IDs and email address), internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed and ad interactions), approximate geolocation, and, from the contact form, the details you choose to give. We collect them from you, from your device, and from the providers named in Section 3, for the purposes in Section 2.

Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing Mediavine’s advertising partners to collect information through cookies for personalized ads may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws. To opt out, use the opt-out tools in Section 4 or send us a request through the contact page. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer anything about you.

Do Not Track. Browsers send “Do Not Track” signals in different ways and there is no agreed standard, so the Site does not respond to them.

Making a request. Use our contact page and begin the subject with “Privacy Request”. We will confirm your request using information we already have, such as the email address you write from, and reply within 45 days (or tell you if we need more time, as the law allows). Someone you authorize in writing may make a request on your behalf. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer and asking us to reconsider; if you are still unhappy, you may contact your state attorney general.

9. Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it (including objecting at any time to use based on our legitimate interests), to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, write to us through the contact page with “Privacy Request” in the subject. We will reply within one month, or tell you if we need longer. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

The Site is run from the United States, and our service providers may process your data in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws differ from yours. When we or our providers move personal data out of the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum to them) or the provider’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.

10. Children

The Site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, tell us through the contact page and we will delete it.

11. Other websites

Stories and ads may link to other websites. We don’t control them, and their own privacy policies apply once you leave the Site.

12. Updates to this policy

When we change this policy we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will give more prominent notice where the law requires.

13. How to reach us

For any question or request about privacy, use our contact page. It is the fastest way to reach the people who run the Site.
